During my internship at WFLA’s Bloom health and wellness show, I helped with various production tasks, including editing, article writing, teleprompter operation, and camera assistance. I was struck by the fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
One of the best parts of my internship was preparing segments from start to finish. I clipped footage, wrote content, and interacted with on-set guests. These tasks taught me the value of each production role and inspired me to pay closer attention to detail and adapt quickly, especially when things changed at the last minute.
This experience increased my interest in hands-on, team-oriented media environments that value communication and creativity. It also gave me a deeper appreciation for the work behind the scenes in broadcast media and confirmed my desire to pursue a career in this field.

Learned
Editing, Segment Clipping, Article Writing, & Posting
WordPress & AKTA
Learning to use editing tools such as WordPress and AKTA has improved my understanding of broadcast production.
Writing short descriptions for segments has allowed me to be creative and learn about new topics.
Teleprompting & Camera Operations
Studio
During my time in the studio, I gained hands-on experience in production. Zooming in and out, framing a shot, and focusing the camera were some of the skills I learned while operating the camera.
The teleprompter, however, was my favorite role. I worked with the show’s host to keep a consistent pace and help filming run smoothly and on time. My confidence in using the teleprompter quickly grew and I enjoyed learning how that process works.
Guest Interactions, Communication, & Set Design
Studio
I was able to interact with amazing people within my time in this internship. This experience improved my communication skills and taught me how to balance professionalism and adaptability.
I also contributed to set design, which showed me how visual details and layout shape a segment's tone and professionalism.
